4Pomodoro ("we", "our", "us") is a free Pomodoro timer. There is no account system and no server-side database — but this site does run Google AdSense advertising, which uses cookies and similar technologies. This policy explains exactly what that means for you, in plain language, and how it lines up with the GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and LGPD (Brazil).

1. Data We Collect

• We do not require sign-up, login, or any account to use 4Pomodoro.
• We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number anywhere on the timer itself.
• We do not operate our own analytics or tracking scripts, and we do not maintain a server-side database of user activity.
• If you choose to email us (for example, via the Contact page), we receive whatever information you include in that email — this is data you send us directly and voluntarily, not data we collect automatically.

2. Local Storage (Your Tasks, Projects & Stats)

4Pomodoro saves your tasks, projects, settings, and productivity statistics using your browser's local storage — a standard web technology that keeps data on your own device only.

• This data is never transmitted to our servers. We have no way to see, access, or recover it remotely.
• It stays on the specific browser and device you used to create it. Switching browsers, devices, or using private/incognito mode will not carry it over.
• Clearing your browser's site data, or your browser's cache/storage, will permanently delete it. We recommend using the "Export (JSON)" option in Settings to back up your data if it matters to you.

3. Advertising & Cookies

4Pomodoro is free to use, and advertising is one of the ways we keep it that way. We use Google AdSense to display ads on this site.

• Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads and measure their performance.
• These cookies may be used by Google to show you ads based on your visits to this and other websites, in line with Google's own advertising policies.
• We do not control what data Google's advertising cookies collect, and we do not receive that data ourselves — Google manages this independently as the advertising provider.
• You can learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, and manage your ad personalization settings, at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising across many sites using the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool or your browser's cookie settings.

Outside of advertising, we do not use cookies for tracking purposes. Some essential technical settings (such as your light/dark theme preference) are stored using local storage rather than cookies, as described in section 2.

4. Third-Party Services

Beyond Google AdSense, 4Pomodoro loads a small number of third-party resources needed for the site to function and look the way it does:

• Google Fonts — used to load the typefaces on this page. Loading a font may share your IP address with Google's font servers.
• Audio files hosted on a third-party CDN (Mixkit), used for the timer's notification sound.

If our pages ever link out to external resources or websites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We recommend reading their own privacy policies before sharing any information with them.

5. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA & LGPD)

We maintain this policy to be transparent and compliant with major privacy regulations, including the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD).

Because 4Pomodoro itself does not collect or store personal data on our servers, most data-subject rights (such as the right to access, correct, or delete personal data) do not apply to us directly — there is no personal data on our end to access or delete. Any rights relating to advertising cookies are exercised through Google and the opt-out tools listed in section 3.

6. Children's Privacy

4Pomodoro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the site requires no sign-up and stores data only locally on the user's own device, no personal information is collected from any user, regardless of age.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal requirements, new features, or changes in how the site operates. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
